The Mountain Passes

Alto de Finestrat

The Alto de Finestrat, located on the first major climb of the event, is a 4 km pass that ascends to 360 meters. Throughout the route, cyclists face a cumulative elevation gain of 202 meters, with an average gradient of 5.3%, which intensifies in some sections with ramps up to 10%. This ascent offers a moderate challenge and marks the beginning of the main difficulties of the event.

Puerto de Tudons Highest point

The Puerto de Tudons via Sella is the second and most important climb of the event, known as the roof of the Aitana Tour and the highest pass in the province of Alicante, with an altitude of 1024 meters. This pass, frequently featured in La Vuelta and major competitions, has a length of 12 km and a cumulative elevation gain of 603 meters.

Puerto de Confrides

The Puerto de Confrides via Ares del Bosc is the third climb of the event and the last challenge of the shorter route. With 4.6 km in length and a cumulative elevation gain of 257 meters, this pass stands out for its beautiful yet demanding ascent. The average gradient is 5.8%, with sections reaching a maximum gradient of 12%, taking cyclists to an altitude of 970 meters.

Puerto de Sa Creueta Gran Fondo Only

The Puerto de Sa Creueta, exclusive to the long route, is one of the most spectacular climbs of the event that runs through Sa Vall de Tárbena. With 12.5 km in length and a cumulative elevation gain of 624 meters, it offers breathtaking scenery as cyclists ascend to 780 meters altitude. It's a key pass for pre-season training, heavily frequented by professional cyclists from around the world.

The Puerto de Coll de Rates is the most famous and internationally recognized climb in the Aitana Tour, being the last major challenge and final timed climb of the event. This legendary pass in the cycling world is a key point for training and competitions of professionals throughout the year. With a distance of 6.7 km and a cumulative elevation gain of 350 meters, it presents an average gradient of 6.7% and ramps reaching up to 14.1%.

In case of a tie, the best time on Puerto de Tudons is used.
Only non-electric bicycles are eligible for mountain prizes.
