The organization and the collaborators of the Marcha Aitana Tour are aware that we cannot go through life without leaving a trace of hope and solidarity. That is why we will donate a part of each registration to collaborate with two important projects for us, such as the Fundación Asilo Hospital de Callosa d’en Sarrià and the initiative Caminando con Aitana.

Fundación Asilo Hospital Callosa d'en Sarrià

Asilo Hospital Foundation

Together with Vital Esport, we will provide essential materials such as compresses, dressings, bandages, adapted vehicles and more, to the elderly people admitted to the nursing home of the Fundación Asilo Hospital de Callosa d’en Sarrià. That our elders feel that they are important to us, and that as in any group, we leave no one behind.

And this year we pay attention to Angelman syndrome. Damián Aragón is the father of Aitana, a girl with this syndrome. Her initiative, Walking with Aitana , raises funds for research into this rare disease. You can find more information on Facebook Walking with Aitana and web https://caminandoconaitana.es/.

It is a chronic neurological disorder caused by a genetic alteration. Specifically, it is caused by a deletion in the maternal chromosome 15, which leads to a missing gene in the brain. Its symptoms are severe mental retardation, motor retardation, epilepsy, absence of speech, ataxia, lack of balance, insomnia, hyperactivity, constant drooling…among others. It is a disease that affects 1 in every 15,000 births, and there are currently around 230 people affected in Spain. They are totally dependent and usually attend special education schools due to their multiple disabilities.
